Bloody (Black) Friday

Friday, November 26, 2010
Everyone with a shopping bone in their body knows about the infamous quasi-holiday that is Black Friday.   Although I myself love the rush and frenzy of a good Black Friday sale, I personally prefer to do it in my pajamas in the comfort of my own room. However, this year even I am taking part, so today I decided to wish all of you crazy shoppers a good luck from Miss Saturday Morning, and to offer you all a few tips and shopping suggestions.

1. Today is not the day to break out the stilettos. Buy heels, wear flats.
2. You don't want to be wearing awkward undergarments. Go with basic lingerie, and bring a cami, belt, and nylons for tops, dresses, and shoes that require such things.
3. Over the shoulder bags are the only way to go. You don't wan to be rushing with a big handbag.
4. Time to eat is nonexistent. Pack a protein bar.
5. Never take no as the final answer!

Holiday Chic

Saturday, November 20, 2010
With all the stress of mid-terms, decorating for the holidays and finding everyone that perfect holiday gift, it can be hard to stay stylish. Especially when the weather is just screaming for sweat pants and hot chocolate. But fear not, MSM is here with a fun, fashionable way to stay cute and comfortable during your long winter days.

Moccasins!

Free People excels at making comfortable urban looks, and they're brown fringe knit moccasins are my personal favorite choice for staying adorable during the holidays.
Interested?
You can check them out here.
J. Crew has the slipper-moccasin down to a science. With soft fringe, gold studs, and a cute tie up back, they're perfect with skinny jeans and a sweater.
Want to add them to your wish-list?
Find your size here.

So cozy up with your gingerbread latte and your study guides and look absolutely fabulous while you do it.
Your feet will never be more thankful.

More holiday posts to come! So be on the lookout and have a blissful holiday season!

Taryn Juliette

The New Silk Road

Sunday, November 7, 2010

Everybody loves a little bit of history. The creative miss Vivienne Tam is no exception to this rule. I absolutely loved her S/S 2011 collection, for all of her lace, her neutrals with a few bright pops of color, and for the fact that she was one of the few designers that had her models walk in macrame sandals, not stilettos. Inspired by the Silk Road from China across India and through Persia, her clothes were as beautiful as they were versatile and wearable. They incorporated cream, tan, and brown with gorgeous magenta fabrics and deep blues. Everyone loved it. Twitter was abuzz with all kinds of updates after her show, mainly fashionistas dying to get her awesome sandals which will surely become a must have this spring. So here on Miss Saturday Morning I'm going to take you down Ms. Tam's new Silk Road, in pictures from the show taken by myself and from style.com.

The show

A panoramic view of the runway.

The shoes were absolutely to die for!
I loved this intense fuchsia look.

 Vivienne Tam herself!

Me with Top Chef Master's Kelly Choi at the show. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met!

I would wear this look on a regular day. It's such a flattering dress!

Probably my favorite look from the show. The rich sapphire color and the rainbow sandals really caught my eye.

My favorite floor length dress from the show.

Sorry for my lack of posting recently, hopefully i'll be able to start posting weekly again. I hope you love Ms. Tam as much as I do now! Until next time darlings!
