Party Like It's 1959.

Friday, May 21, 2010
Summer's almost here and we couldn't be more ecstatic. But when going over summer wardrobes, the undeniable fact was that our bathing suits were lacking in creativity. We're so over the one note bikini that have been plaguing our beaches. This summer try something cute, flirty, and very trendy: go Vintage!
You can check some out here: http://www.vintagebathingsuits.net/
Personally, we love this one:

The ruching in this suit gives is a a classy feel while the playful jewelry and hat make it an absolutely adorable & youthful look.

So play around with some vintage styles in your closet this summer, that way you can party like it's, well, 1959.

The Style of the American Woman

Saturday, May 15, 2010
The Metropolitan Museum of Art: Where art meets fashion and creates beauty.

At this years Costume Institute Gala, the stars didn't hesitate to blend trendy and Haute Couture when they stepped out onto the red carpet wearing some of the most breathtaking gowns that have debuted this year. The theme was "American Woman" to celebrate the Met's new exhibit done in collaboration with The Costume Institute called "American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity. With this in mind, stars graced the red carpet in a variety of colors with red, white, and blue being the most prominent.

Our favorite look was Sienna Miller who showed up looking divine in an Emilio Pucci gown.

We love all the textures in this look.

We love the playful lengths and the leg peek-a-boo going on in the dress.

And with attractive eye candy, Jude Law, Sienna steals the red carpet at this years Gala.

But that's not all!
Here are some of the looks that we also loved from this years Costume Institue Gala:
Thandie Newton rocked an oragami purple Vivienne Westwood gown.

Karolina Kurkova looked like a modern greek goddess in Altuzarra.

Camilla Belle in a classic red gown designed by Jason Wu, right.

The gala was filled with inspiring fashions, and the exhibit is up at The Metropolitan Museum of Art from May 5 through August 15, so if you're in New York City any time soon, we highly suggest you try to check it out!

Hottest Look of the Week - A Pop of Color

Saturday, May 8, 2010

This weeks hottest look has a pop of color to it. The Marc Jacobs motorcycle jacket is a designer splurge, but the five dollar classic tank is what makes the outfit pop and it's a total steal ( available at Pink Zone stores). The Jolt jeans have all the bells and whistles (studs being absolutely fabulous right now) and when you put it all together, voila, you have the fashionably adorable girl next door.

With Liberty and Justice for All

Stop, Collaborate, and Design?

Clearly that's what has been going through the creative minds of those at Liberty of London.

Liberty was originally a famous department store in the West End shopping district of London, England, where practically everyone went to get the hottest new styles. Then, in 2005, they launched their own private label that includes things like dresses, skirts, and housewares in the craziest, most beautiful floral prints. This line is sold both in their store and off their website, http://www.liberty.co.uk/. Now, they are engaging in two different collaborations. One is with Target, where they created a fun line of spring/summer floral prints for things like clothes and bedding. The other is with MAC Cosmetics, where they inspired a line of brightly colored shades of makeup with fun, pop art print packaging known as Give Me Liberty of London. So, next time you have the urge to be a bit British and have fun with prints, check out Liberty of London for Target and Give Me Liberty of London by MAC Cosmetics. We guarantee that you'll feel freed.

Our favorite Liberty of London for Target advertisment.

The ideel[i] Sample Sale

Saturday, May 1, 2010
Ah, the Sample Sale. What a novel idea. Designers selling merchandise for over 70% off, who wouldn't want to get in on this action? But then your hair gets pulled, and the lady next to you steals those Jimmy Choos you just grabbed; this just got personal.

We love getting fabulous sample sale items as much as the next girl, but we like to do it in a safer way, so we shop ideeli. Ideeli is an amazing sample sale website where you can get everything from Betsey Johnson to Prada at incredible markdowns, but it still has that sample sale rush with a ticking timer on the page. They also offer cool giveaways, and joining is totally free! So go ahead, buy those Jimmy Choos, and stay calm, cool, and collected while doing so. It's perfectly ideel[i].

http://www.ideeli.com/

P.S. If you invite a friend, you get $25 when they make their first purchase. Talk about fabulous!
