If Nautica(l) Nonsense Be Something You Wish

School is ruining all my posting time. Sorry about that.

This year at New York Fashion Week I attended the Nautica Men's S/S 2011 Presentation.
For those of who who do not know, a presentation is very different from a runway show. While in a runway show you sit and watch models walk in time to whatever music compliments the collection best, a presentation is when you walk around a room filled with models dressed in that label's collection. Presentations usually run for two hour periods, and people stop by in between shows for champagne and a relaxing look around. Like I said, I went to the Men's Presentation. It was inspired by "the spirit of the water, the people and the architecture of the American Southern Coast."It combined the classic Nautica Blue with plaids and even fun swimwear. And watching male models for an hour? That didn't hurt either.

J'adore the plaid patchwork blazer, left.

A more put together take on the flannel, sneakers, and cargo shorts look. Loving the aviators.

Sometimes I wish mens sweaters were unisex. If that was the case, I would be wearing this one right now. From left, models Oraine in a navy cotton plaid buttondown, turquoise cotton buttondown, navy cotton splatter paint short, model Josh in a madras cotton plaid buttondown, white cotton 5 pocket pant, and model Ryan Burns in a cream and navy cotton striped shawl neck sweater, turquoise cotton plaid buttondown, army green cotton cargo short.

Even the swimwear was awesome. From left, model Chad in a white nylon Nautica Competition reversible vest, white/red/navy color blocked board short, model Leif in a yellow nylon waterproof Nautica Competition bomber, white cotton track pant, and model Bobby in a white peached cotton sail print bomber, white nautical flag print board short.

Me at the Nautica Presentation.

I also got an adorable scarf from the Nautica Women's S/S 2011 Collection before I left; it's pink and grey plaid and amazingly soft. I strongly recommend checking out the collections when they hit stores this spring.

The collection did stay true to it's description in their collection guide, "Life on the southern coast is truly a life well lived."

xoxo,
Christina Anne
